Sally Silver
Board Member
Sally is a seasoned public policy professional and one of Buckhead’s most respected civic voices, known for her long-standing commitment to thoughtful growth, neighborhood integrity, and community-centered planning.
She currently serves as Policy Analyst to Atlanta City Councilmember Howard Shook, where she works at the intersection of constituent needs, municipal policy, and the practical realities of city governance. In this role, Sally helps shape local decision-making on issues that directly affect quality of life, from transportation and zoning to development review and neighborhood services.
For more than two decades, Sally has also been a hands-on community leader in Buckhead. She served for 23 years as a neighborhood activist and volunteer, including service with Neighborhood Planning Unit-B (NPU-B) and other local civic associations. She is recognized for bringing deep institutional memory, procedural fluency, and a steady sense of fairness to public processes that can often become contentious.
Sally currently serves on development review committees for three special interest zoning districts in the Buckhead community, helping ensure that growth is guided by clear standards, public accountability, and long-term community benefit. She is also a longtime board member of the Buckhead Area Transportation Management Association (BATMA) and a founding board member of Livable Buckhead, reflecting her sustained focus on mobility, livability, and responsible urban planning.
In addition to her civic and policy work, Sally and her husband, Herb, are owners of Sensible Wellness Physical Therapy in Buckhead, a community-based practice grounded in care, wellness, and long-term patient support.
Sally’s leadership is defined by credibility, consistency, and a rare ability to bridge technical policy detail with real neighborhood concerns. Whether in City Hall or in the community, she is widely respected for doing the hard work of civic stewardship with clarity, discipline, and heart.
